Born in Alabama, 20 years on the NYC blues scene, and now working from New Orleans, the sounds of the South have never left him. Along with his great songwriting, his unique sound reflects the old time country, Southern Rock, and Chicago Blues. You’ll hear the years spent with blues legend Pinetop Perkins in his sound, along with everyone from the Allman Brothers to John Prine. A review of a recent CD cites “…pay particular attention to the lyrics…Kilby lays deeper-than-you-may-think wisdom on the table.” (Jambands.com)

His collaborations with harmonica legend Phil Wiggins, NOLA giants Henry Butler and Coco Robicheaux, and close ties to Jamgrass phenomenon Railroad Earth add to the depth of his sound.

Kilby has taken his music from the dive bars of the East Village to major festivals of US and Europe. The Newport Jazz Fest, Tremblant (Can.) and Copenhagen Blues Fests, and the National Folk Festival are just a few.

Karley Nichols & The Common Cents is a Mississippi-based band led by dual female vocalists Karley Nichols and Kelsey Smith, who share lead vocals and keys. Blending pop, rock, alternative, southern rock, and neo-soul, their sound draws from ’90s and early 2000s influences like Alanis Morissette, Paramore, Fleetwood Mac, and The Beatles. Known for tight harmonies and energetic live shows, the band mixes nostalgic favorites with original, hook driven songs.

Sugarcane Jane, the Alabama based Americana duo comprised of husband and wife Anthony Crawford (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica, kick drum) and Savana Lee (vocals, bass guitar), have been crafting music deeply rooted in folk rock for over a decade. Full band show with Thomas Jackson Orchestra!

Northeast Mississippi native Thomas Jackson is steeped in the rich cultural heritage of his home state—playing a traditional and humbling brand of country music. His latest effort entitled Bridgeburner, is a collection of country-folk songs that tell the tales of Jackson’s life as a storyteller and performer.

Recorded at the legendary Studio In The Country in Bogalus, LA—which has housed recordings from cultfolk, mega-stars Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros to shock-rocker Marilyn Manson to Austin’s own country music star Willie Nelson. The studio sessions for the album helped paint the backdrop and touch the soul of Jackson—as anyone can imagine the production quality on this record is top notch.

Jackson has something to offer for every country music fan on this record, lyrically he vividly paints the picture of his past experiences—staying true to the roots of country. The title track is a story of a man downtrodden by a seemingly careless female individual, the Bridgeburner.

The third track on the album entitled “My New Couch” gives the listener an upbeat and likable tune with some smooth guitar licks and playful lyrics of a situation of adultery. The song is topped off with a Boss-type guitar solo and the repetition of the hook:

Don’t come unless you plan to stay all night,
Don’t come unless you plan to get it right.

It’s the type of song that’ll make a cougar with a buzz dance the night away!

From his catchy vocal arrays on songs like “One Trick Pony” and the fiddle driven “Bang!” to the straight up country-western sound on the track “Don’t Be Sad,” Thomas Jackson provides the listener a truly euphonic array of songs. Inspired by the traditional juke joint spirit, Kody Shade Harrell’s music merges raw, rural blues with the improvisational energy of psychedelia and the infectious pulse of modern and classic beats. His goal is to revive the danceable, communal energy of blues music for contemporary audiences, showing that while deeply rooted in tradition, this music remains as captivating and timeless as ever.

Bryan Shaw, born and raised in the Jackson, Mississippi area, has drummed professionally for most of his life in a variety of styles. Throughout his career, he has backed many blues artists domestically and internationally including Lightnin’ Malcolm, Ghalia Volt, and The Harrell Brothers, and since 2018 has toured with Watermelon Slim. Bryan currently lives in New Orleans, Louisiana.
